Pro Tools Expert has posted a number of articles about Room Correction/Speaker Calibration systems over the years. By now, many of you may already know what Pro Tools Expert Deputy Editor Dan Cooper thinks of the Room Correction software Reference 3 by Sonarworks "It's the best thing since sliced bread" but If you have yet to experience the benefits of a room correction system or you feel that room correction software is a load of old rubbish then this interview from Sonarworks with Jonas Westling may just encourage you to try a Room Correction product in your workflow at some point in the future.
Jonas has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry including Lady Gaga, Newton Faulkner and Paul McCartney, Westling has his own studio based at Matrix Studios in London, where he spends most of his time mixing.
Jonas was once a skeptic of Room Correction Software - now he is not. After Johas performed a test on what he thought was his perfect sounding studio he discovered there was room for improvement. Jonas found that there has been a noticeable improvement in his work with the use of Sonarworks calibration software. Now, he won't mix without it.

You learn to compensate through trial and error and experience until your mixes sound good. Period. Well, not so much. You’ll have to read through to the end of my review of the Sonarworks Reference 4 software to see how my prejudices have been modified through the experience of using this system.
In this review Dan from Pro Tools Expert takes a close look at Sonarworks Headphone Calibration plug in and demonstrates it's performance using a set of KRK KNS 8400.
