In this free tutorial, brought to you with the support of Avid, Pro Tools Expert team member Julian Rodgers demonstrates the jog/shuttle wheel and how the wheel functions can be applied to the touchstrips. He also shows how you can use the monitor control even if you don’t have hardware which supports Eucon monitor control.
Jog Wheel Functions On the Touchstrips
In a previous tutorial Julian demonstrated setting up the touchstrips as assignable buttons but it is possible to use them as ribbon controllers by mapping suitable parameters to one of the touchstrip zones and leaving the others empty. In this example he has mapped Horizontal Scroll, one of the wheel parameters on to the touchstrip.
Avid Dock Monitor Control Without A MTRX
The Monitor control on the Dock was something Julian assumed he couldn’t use as he didn’t have suitable hardware but by right clicking on the name of a Master Fader in Pro Tools the monitor cannot can be mapped to that Master Fader allowing monitor control of Pro Tools without additional hardware.
