Fenrir is an impulse response player, it’s designed with guitarists in mind but it could just as easily be used with reverb IRs. There are some nice features with this simple IR player. Dual IR’s can be loaded, you can crossfade between them and offset them against each other using a relative delay/advance control. The display can be switched between waveform and frequency response and interesting results can be created by combining two IRs and viewing the resulting frequency response if you don’t know how polarity and delay create comb filtering this is the ideal way to experiment. If you like the results you can save the combined effect as a new IR.

This week’s Free Plugin is an oldie but a goodie. Thump from Metric halo takes the old technique of layering a sub tone under a kick drum and makes it so much better. A sub bass synth triggered by audio. Two tones with independent pitch envelopes so you get all the bass without the “one note sub” effect. We love it.
