This week’s free plugin is Convology XT from Wave Arts, a free convolution reverb that features some impulses from classic hardware. It has been recently updated and free reverbs, let alone free convolution reverbs are relatively rare compared to more common types of free plugins like saturators and compressor so it’s very worth checking out.
What Is Convology?
Convology XT is a free convolution reverb, the result of a collaboration between Wave Arts and Impulse Record. Convology XT comes with 70 vintage impulse responses, a sampling of the 2,965 impulse responses in the Convology XT Libraries
What’s New In The Update?
v1.24 brings some useful additions. Nothing world-changing but here are the highlights:
Added Mono Input control to pan input to center prior to reverb processing
Supports user provided images
Added preset import and preset export commands
Supports preset rename
Supports custom library install directory via preference setting
Mouse-over on browser directory shows tooltip with full pathname
