PSP Audioware has introduced a new tool, PSP Flow, designed to elevate the quality of compression in sound engineering, especially tailored for film and TV/video post-production. Rooted in the innovative work of Italian sound engineer Paolo Pasquariello, PSP Flow incorporates a unique single-band probability compression algorithm that ensures both musical and smooth processing across diverse tracks and groups.
Features At A Glance
Single-band unique probability compression algorithm.
Wide compression knee.
Peak or RMS level detector.
Optional automatic release readjustment.
Wide range of threshold and ratio settings.
Preamp section modeling on input.
Lookahead for reduction of transients through the compressor.
Smooth control of the side chain high pass filter and link.
Optional automatic makeup gain.
Dry/Compressed Mix control.
Output brick wall limiter with adjustable ceiling level and release time.
64-bit double precision floating point math for ultra-low cumulative errors in the filters and proper filter characteristics across the entire frequency spectrum.
More Information
The tool brings several advanced features aimed at enhancing audio quality and versatility in post-production settings. These include a wide compression knee, choice between peak or RMS level detection, and an optional automatic release readjustment to adapt to different sound dynamics seamlessly. Furthermore, users benefit from a broad array of threshold and ratio settings, enhancing control and precision.
A notable addition is the preamp section, which models input to emulate various tonal characteristics, alongside lookahead capabilities that help in reducing transients before they hit the compressor. Additionally, PSP Flow offers a smooth control over the side chain high pass filter and link, optional automatic makeup gain, and a mix control for blending dry and compressed signals.
Ensuring output integrity, PSP Flow features a brick wall limiter with an adjustable ceiling level and release time, built on 64-bit double precision floating point math. This foundation minimizes cumulative errors in filters and maintains consistent filter characteristics across the entire frequency spectrum.
In order to run PSP Flow in 30-day trial mode or activate it, you need an iLok user ID which you can create for free at www.ilok.com, and you need to install the free iLok License Manager application but you don't need any hardware dongle.
You can activate the license in 3 separate locations, each of which can be either a computer or an iLok dongle (2nd generation or above). You can move these licenses at any time using PACE's iLok License Manager software.
PSP Flow is currently available at an introductory price of $79, down from the regular $99, until the 31st of May 2024.
