Presonus Announce Three New Products Including AVB Enabled Mix System

Presonus have announced three new products, with developments in live sound, mobile recording and audio over IP.

StudioLive AVB Mix Systems

AVB fuctionality for live or recording applications is available in PreSonus' new StudioLive AVB Mix Systems. Using StudioLive RM-series rack mixers as remote stage boxes and a StudioLive CS18AI as a control surface, this is a scalable, fully recallable, networked over AVB Ethernet, audio system with Wi-Fi and Ethernet networking. The combination of hardware control and software control over Wi-Fi offers the best of both worlds. This is one I'll be keeping an eye on!

Its no secret that I'm an audio over IP evangelist. AVB is more open that the various proprietary systems currently in use and although it can't be assumed that AVB equipment from different manufacturers will necessarily play nicely together, sourcing all components from a single supplier keeps things simple. Bundling existing products together to highlight their interoperability via AVB is a smart move and the possibility of controlling the system via Presonus' cross platform UC Surface touch control app will make system EQ or setting up monitor mixes a breeze whether you have an iPad or a Windows 8 tablet.

ULT Series Active Loudspeakers

New ULT series active loudspeakers. Designed for longer throw applications, the cabinet has wide horizontal dispersion and narrow vertical dispersion (110˚H x 50˚V) for even coverage throughout the space. Designed for both mobile use and permanent installations by PreSonus’ WorxAudio commercial loudspeaker division, the series includes the ULT12 and ULT15 full-range systems and the ULT18 subwoofer. With integrated class D amplifiers the ULT12 has a peak SPL 132dB and the ULT15 136dB. Specs and pricing to follow.

Studio 192 Mobile

A more compact version of the Studio 192, the Studio 192 Mobile boasts the same features as the very capable 1U 19" Studio 192, with the DSP Fat Channel, tight integration with Studio One, generous digital IO and USB 3.0 connectivity, but in a smaller form factor suitable for both mobile and studio use.
