Tutorial - Tracking And Mixing With Apollo Interface - Part 4 - Mixing Drums

See this content in the original post

In this 4th free video tutorial in the series Paul Drew demonstrates how to mix drums using the fantastic UAD Apollo and the plug-ins that are available on the UAD platform.

Paul starts off by eq-ing the kick with the Helios 69 EQ before moving onto the 3 snares.

Snare 1 is already quite compressed so Paul decides to just eq the snare with the Chandler Curve Bender and adding the AKG BX20 reverb for a bit of space.

The second snare needs a bit of compression so Paul uses the 1176LN to bring out the decay in the snare.

The snare roll needs a bit of compression but this time paul uses the 1176 Blue Stripe for extra character.

Finally, Paul looks at the fills track and again inserts a 1176 Blue strip, but this time Paul uses a 12:1 ratio to really squash the fill.
