We have provided the low down on the key features in Pro Tools 12.7 and the additional features too in previous stories. We can now share with you what has been fixed in the way of bugs in Pro Tools 12.7.

Editing

• Fixed an issue where performing  "Heal Separation" command would not work after tabbing to clip boundary

• Fixed an issue where the Promote arrow in Playlist view would not be active for the correct playlist after sending an edit selection to an alternate playlist, then undoing

• Fixed a case where the presence of clip groups could cause a crash in certain sessions

• Fixed a case with Layered editing where overlapped clip was not properly restored after deleting an overlapping clip with a fade

• Fixed an issue where sending a selection to a playlist, then switching playlists would incorrectly create additional playlists.

• Fixed an issue where dragging a clip from Workspace or Finder/Explorer to the blank (gutter) playlist in Playlist view would incorrectly create a playlist named "gutter”

• Fixed an issue where dragging a clip to the blank (gutter) playlist in Playlist view would create a new playlist with no unique ID

• Fixed an issue where Sync Point would be ignored during "Quantize to Grid" operation

• Fixed an issue where grouped clips could get out of sync when dragged to blank (gutter) playlists in Playlist view

• Fixed a Layered Editing issue where copying a clip then using "Repeat to Fill Selection" caused an incorrect edit and crossfade

• Fixed an issue where any Clip Gain or edit modification to an existing Clip Group would create a new Clip Group

• Fixed an issue where Clip Groups can get incorrectly linked when copied to neighbouring tracks

• Fixed an issue where audio files processed using a plug-in that modified files outside of the Pro Tools process would play back as noise after reopening the session

• Fixed an issue where empty alternate playlists would not be populated in the "Delete Unused Playlists" menu

• Fixed a case where grouping clips with elastic audio processing could cause incorrect waveforms to be displayed

• Fixed an issue where files created during clip consolidation could end up corrupted if a volume is mounted during the operation

• Audio clips can no longer be placed unexpectedly on a Frozen Audio Track 

Clip Effects

• Fixed a case where focus could not be returned to the Clip Effects pane in the edit window, preventing usage of Clip Effects

• Fixed an issue where Clip Effects could render with artifacts for looped clips that are trimmed using TCE

• Fixed a case where bypassing and then unbypassing Clip Effects could cause a clip not to play back for some time

• Prevent Pro Tools Crash when Save Copy In... with ClipFX Quick Preset option selected

• Prevent a crash upon drag and drop of audio file from Finder to the timeline

• Fixed an issue upon loading a session Clip Effects receives focus automatically and you unable to begin playback quickly because edit box is active [Mac Only]

• Fixed an issue where Opt+6 does not let focus to go out and no way to close the pane when it's focused (introduced after recent changes) [Mac only]

• Fixed an issue when edit box is active, pressing Opt+6 does not close the pane, enters symbols instead [Mac only]

• Fixed a case where PT loses keyboard focus after dealing with three-way toggle for ClipFX

• Fixed a problem where there should not be a case when the pane is inactive but focused in a yellow indicator

• Switching between Universe view and Clip Effects is done in a different manner via [View -> Other Displays] and [special Toggle] (in terms of focus)

• Fixed a problem where Shift+Tab does not work for jumping to previous edit box

• Prevent a Tab vs Edit box issue on Windows

• Fixed an issue where yellow focus indicator disappears when PT dialog window is opened

• Fixed an issue where yellow focus indicator disappears when Edit window is resized

Automation

• VCA automation on HDX systems has been optimized substantially to reduce the occurrence of "automation too dense" errors when automating VCAs that control other VCAs

• Additional anchor breakpoints are now placed at the imported session start time when using the Import - Overlay option for matched tracks in the Import Session Data window

• Mute automation is no longer switched incorrectly to the opposite state when using the Import - Overlay option for matched tracks in the Import Session Data window

• Automation that is replaced by dragging an audio file on to the timeline is now correctly restored when undoing that drag and drop event 

Workspace

• Fixed an issue where "Shoot Date" metadata would be incorrect

• Reduced time it takes to complete a "Copy and Relink" task for less than 2000 files

• Fixed an issue where the "Copy and Relink" menu item was unavailable when right-clicking on a file in the Workspace File Browser

• Fixed an issue where mounting, then unmounting, Network Attached Storage caused Pro Tools to stop processing audio files)

• Fixed an issue where Workspace sort order was not respected as new files were added to the session

• Fixed an issue where Advanced Search did not follow same Boolean logic as  Simple Search

• Fixed an issue where an Advanced search could be performed for mutually exclusive criteria

• Fixed an issue where last used text field column would remain active after starting  a search

• Fixed an issue where multiple column fields could be active simultaneously 

Miscellaneous

• It is no longer impossible to create more than 768 tracks when using Pro Tools HD software with HD Native or other playback engines

• Counters no longer fail to update while changing the size of a selection with the selector tool

• Choosing to hide the Undo History from the Window menu no longer closes the Mix or Edit window as well

• Fixed a case where Input Only Monitoring would fail to work while Low Latency Monitoring is enabled after changing between sessions of a different sample rate

• Fixed a case where restart or shutdown would be prevented by the Avid HD driver on OS X 10.11

• Fixed a case where choosing an ASIO device driver in the playback engine could produce an error "The selected audio device could not be initialized. Please choose another audio device."

• Fixed an issue that could require quitting Pro Tools to successfully change hardware buffer size while using UAD audio device on Windows

Crashes and Errors

• Fixed a case where Pro Tools 10 would crash when attempting to bounce an MP3 after updating to the new licenses for Pro Tools 12.6. To resolve this issue re-sync your ilok containing any Pro Tools 12.6 bundle licenses in iLok License Manager

• Fixed a crash that could occur when rendering an AudioSuite process across multiple files with "create individual files" and "clip by clip" enabled

• Fixed a crash that occur when using drag and drop of a session file to start Import Session Data

• Fixed a case where using Rendered Mode for Elastic Audio could cause Pro Tools to crash

• Fixed a crash that occur when exporting a clip that was also a member of a clip group

• Fixed an issue where right-clicking on blank space in the Locations pane in Workspace would cause an Assertion error

• Fixed a crash that could occur when using Import Session Data to import Alternate Playlists

• Fixed a crash when going past the Undo Queue limit by repeatedly sending a selection to another playlist, then switching playlists

• Fixed multiple Layered Editing crashes related to editing clips and sending clip selections to different playlists

• Fixed a crash that could occur when canceling Import Session Data after beginning to create new tracks

• Fixed a crash that could occur while using Field Recorder track workflows on shared tracks in a collaboration

• Fixed a crash that could occur when using offline bounce in a session containing an inactive plug-in that increases the width of a track such as an upmixing plug-in
