Tutorial - Using The Plugin Alliance SPL EQ Ranger Plus On a String Section

See this content in the original post

In this free video tutorial, Paul Drew looks at the Plugin Alliance SPL EQ Ranger Plus and inserts it on a string section sub mix. Paul starts off by finding a problem frequency and dealing it back to remove a honk. Paul then boost the highs and the low eq to make the string section pop.

This passive EQ design was centred on a concept that involved selecting certain optimal centre frequencies for each of the eight bands in each unit, instantly providing a quick path to the right EQ settings for a particular source. EQ Rangers Vol. 1 had three separate EQ modules with uniquely optimised frequency settings: The Vox Ranger, Bass Ranger, and Full Ranger. These extremely musical EQs allowed engineers to use handpicked critical bands to quickly dial in a frequency response for those particular sources in their mix.
