The numeric keypad can be very useful in Pro Tools as it can be used to trigger a number play and record functions or to activate a variety of playback speeds in both forward and backwards directions. In the standard version of Pro Tools there are 2 main numeric keypad modes: Transport and Shuttle and we take a look at how to use them in this video.
But that's not all, we can create and recall memory locations using the num pad and don't forget the Classic mode for all you old Digidesign users like Mike Thornton.
I also cover the Shuttle Lock mode where you can shuttle up and down the session at different speeds using different buttons on the num pad.
