Winners Of The Audified Competition To Win Over $1000 Worth Of Software

Last month we ran a competition offering over $1,000 worth of Audified plug-ins and software to win. We can now announce the lucky winners....

1st Prize - Audified U73b, ampLion, GK Amp And STA Effects - Winner - Joe Davis

I am a music producer with a passion for creating. I always wanted to advance my mixing skills. I use many tools and different songs cause for various tools. I am looking for a unique feel when it comes plug-ins. I understand they are not hardware units but are modeled after some. Each design is made to bring a different element to your song. The diversity in plugins today are immense and you can get swallowed up in having to many. I like to scale down to a perfect set as my goto and I am really interested in the U73b as one of them. I never used the GK amp and would like to see what characteristics it gives to my guitar/keyboard tracks. I have used the STA phaser recently and it is unique compared to other products. I can see myself using the designs from this company on future projects. We all use various pieces of gear/software for a certain feel and I look forward to these plugins not only enhancing my craft but my mixing techniques as well.

2nd Prize - ampLion, GK Amp And STA Effects - Winner - Toby Ray Loyd

I have been writing, recording and performing music since the age of 16, and the joy of my life has been sharing those passions with the extraordinary high school students that I work with as the Executive Director of the Hunterdon Preparatory School in Annandale, NJ.

HPS is a private non-profit school that does not seek to replicate traditional school structures or methods in its mission to help students who struggle with emotional and learning challenges rediscover their value and abilities.

It is no surprise to me that many of them are gifted in art, music and technology, and we use the arts as a means for our kids to learn, grow and acquire the skills that will encourage and enable them to live satisfying and contributing independent lives.

I was recently able to include a 900 square foot media arts studio in the design of our super cool new facility, with digital audio and digital video suites running Pro Tool 12 and Final Cut Pro 10 respectively.  I can't wait to share the Audified software in my work with my students, many of whom share my passion for playing guitar.

We are going to have a blast jamming and recording with ampLion, GK Amp and STA Effects!  I am so grateful to be able to share these awesome tools with my kids.

By the way, I am one of the PTE geeks who has listened to every single podcast!  Your site is the home page in the browser on the iMac that we run Pro Tools in our school studio. My students learn continually from your articles, videos, etc.   Thanks so much for doing what you do with such good humor, deep knowledge and generosity of spirit!

3rd Prize - ampLion and GK Amp - Winner - Jon Timpe

As is common these days, I tend to wear many hats depending on the project. I’ve written music for films such as Love Happens starring Jennifer Aniston and Priest starring Paul Bettany. I've recorded and mixed music for films such as The Rum Diary staring Johnny Deep and The Black Tulip. I have produced soundtrack CD’s for films such as The Monkey King and Informers. I have been involved in sound design & synth programming for multiple films, video games & library music. I’ve even played saxophone for Disney and Looney Tunes.

I’m currently working on my passion project; writing epic prog music with my Progressive Rock band AeonSatori. We are currently in production of our debut album and we will be releasing our official EP early this year, with a full album to follow soon after. Our goal is to bring back epic progressive rock complimented with what we feel are important and timely themes.

I am incredibly honored and grateful to have won the ampLion & GK Amp software, and I feel it is a perfect fit with my progressive rock workflow. I will often sketch ideas on my computer using amp sims as its easier and faster for me to quickly sculpt the sound. Thanks to superior amp sim technology, what was once considered scratch tracks will often end up in our final mix. Not only am I am extremely grateful to Pro Tools Expert for this giveaway, but I've also learnt so much over the years from your wonderful website as well. Another big thanks to the good people at Audiffex for offering such awesome and powerful tools. I really look forward to putting these to good use on our album and would love to share the results with the PTE community.

Audified STA Effects - Winner - Edwin Kuipers

My name is Edwin, been making music since the late 90s. Music has always been a huge passion for me. To have the STA effects will help me in the creative process, whether it's processing guitars or drums. They seem to be quite handy tools.

Audified STA Effects - Winner - Jameul Dye

I am an audio professional who’s experience spans 10+ years: Live-mixing, studio mixing, recording, mastering, audio-post, Sound mixing for film, sound design, audio production, Field recording, A1, A2 Utility etc. I am currently working on some hop-hop mixing, and audio post projects for several clients here in the Atlanta area.

The STA Effects will add an arsenal of audio post and ADR options to enhance the sound of vocal productions, as well as, giving my music mixes the warmth and added value it needs to push it to the ‘next level.’ I also plan on using the PTE Audified Plug-ins in the sound design arena, just to see what types of ‘Madness’ can be accomplished.

Audified STA Effects - Winner - John Holloman

I'm an ASCAP member as A producer and Publisher. I have a Home studio With Protools 12.4 and a Mac. I'm a musician I play bass and some  Keyboard. I have My own sound and I compose  songs. I have an artist her name is Lady G. I'm about to release her second album. The STA Effects will help.

Audified STA Effects - Winner - Robin Vargas

I'm an aspiring producer/mix engineer. I live in the beautiful city of Charleston, South Carolina where you'll find an abundance of history, scenery, night life, and a thriving music scene.
I do music work out of my small apartment that I share with my beautiful wife and dog.
My music space is a corner of our apartment where I mix projects. I have a mobile recording setup which consists of my MacBook Pro, my Apollo Twin, a small assortment of microphones, and a MOTU 8 pre for when a session calls for it. It's a small operation since I do work a 9-5 throughout the week and run live sound so any projects I have I handle evenings and weekends.

I'm thrilled to incorporate STA effects into my workflow! It takes a unique approach on staple effects that I know will give me great ideas for sound design and more. My favorite effect is saturation of any kind and I'm excited to try out the Preamp and Summing Tube sections.

Audified STA Effects - Winner - Kimball Owen-Brown

I’ve been part of the music industry for over 30 years from being in a band, getting a record deal and touring. For the last 10 years, I’ve been working from home recording, mixing and producing.

I started using Pro Tools from version 7 and it’s great to see just how far Pro Tools has come and is now catching up with the other DAWs. I particularly love Steven Slate’s plugins Virtual Mix Rack, my current favourite is the Waves Scheps 73.

I’ve recently been working with a band getting some demos together and they’re just starting to get some airplay in the US which always puts a smile on my face. Love working with young bands that are enthusiastic and eat sleep breathe music.

I like to start my day checking the Pro Tools Expert site and catch up with what’s happening. Also to drool over the equipment! I thoroughly enjoy the humour and banter in the podcasts and here’s to more of that. Russ is always at his best when he’s hit the cider and maybe I am too (maybe it should be obligatory?). Mind you, as to whether it would make for good listening is another matter.

It’s great to hear I’ve won a prize and thank you so much. I look forward to giving them a try and hopefully using them in my workflow.

Audified STA Effects - Winner - Anthony Jones

I am a composer of film scores, songs and concert works. I’m also a researcher, doing a PhD on film music, so I use my studio for creating transcriptions of early sound film music.

Composing for film requires a lot of flexibility, and could require resources ranging from all in-the-box to completely instrumental, and any combination in between. The genres needed can be hugely variable. I work with a broad range of DAW programs—ProTools, Logic, GarageBand, Ableton—depending on the needs of the job. I need tools to allow me a broad range of timbral possibilities—that’s why I am so excited to get my hands on the STA Effects.

I’m looking forward to putting them to use in my film scores, song demos and backing tracks, testing them in weird and wacky ways on instruments and voice.

Audified STA Effects - Winner - Tommie Cruse

Hi...my name is Tommie Cruse, and I've been in the business since 1988. I've recorded and toured as both a engineer and a musician. I'm in heaven when it comes down to recording. In my studio, I use a lot of analog gear and a Pro Tools HD setup, to capture the best performance period. So when I heard about the STA Effects, I wanted to try them out immediately. Not only will it enhance my sound, but it would be a excellent edition to my studio.

Audified STA Effects - Winner - Steve Cilurzo

My studio is located in Southern California. I am a Voice Over Artist, Engineer, Producer and Director. I create post production audio for Television, Film, Video and Radio. I'm also an award winning video editor. In my spare time, I create original music for fun.

I'm looking forward to exploring Audified's STA Effects vintage styled plug-ins. The ability to mix wet and dry signals is a welcome feature. I'm looking forward to applying them when doing sound design work. Thank you Audified and Pro Tools Expert!

Audified STA Preamp - Winner - Kiley Thompson

I am one of the founding members of the live electronic act "Science Vs Nature", and the operator of Expedition Recordings, Kiley Thompson is "Nature from SVN."

With a history of electronic music dating from 1992, I toured North America regularly as DJ Usul, spinning side by side with some of the legends of techno, trance, and house, all the while throwing raves and club events with "Space Kadets Collective" and "Genesis Projekt".

In all those years, I learnt a thing or two about how to write a crowd-friendly track, produce a radio-friendly remix, and make a kick-ass "manhattan." Presently, I produce from my colonial farm in upstate NY, tours with Christian Aydt as Science Vs Nature, and DJs progressive techno as "Nature from SVN.

The STA preamp will be fully utilized in Science Vs Nature's live performance, enhancing sound quality and optimizing signal flow.

Audified STA Preamp - Winner - Kerry Beard

I have a home recording studio and I currently use Studio One 3 Professional with a Vintech mic preamp.  I record mostly my own compositions and some other small projects with bands.  I hope to use the STA Preamp on my drum mixes to add a little boost to the overall mix.

Audified STA Preamp - Winner - Julian Castro

I'm a pro drummer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have a degree on Jazz performance and I've played with local and international artists and perform everywhere from big arenas to small clubs.

I currently work on several projects and teach private students. For the last couple of years I've been building my home studio, and it´s almost done actually. So it is perfect timing for exploring the possibilities of the STA Preamp.

For me, getting the right tones at the source is paramount, but I´m looking forward to bring some tube saturation with the STA Preamp. Thanks to Pro Tools Expert for this opportunity!

Audified STA Preamp - Winner - Jonathan Tessier

I was born in Sao Paulo (Brazil) from a French father and Brazilian mother. Equally passionate about music production and songwriting, I began my musical elopement at the age of 14.
I spent most of his childhood in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), a time during which I played in several independent rock bands.

I now work at Sonic Vista Studios (located in Ibiza, Spain) as a Studio Assistant, cutting teeth and learning as much as I can about running a studio and creating music that will stand the test of time.

I'm very grateful to have won the Summing Tube Amplifier (STA) Preamp, this effect is a unique combination of multi-band equalizer and exciter, a tool that will definitely help take my music to the next level. Wicked! Thank you so much!

Audified STA Preamp - Winner - Jeffrey King

This is the first thing I've ever one in 65 years! I have a Pro Tools 11 setup in my home - several nice outboard preamps, an 1178 (priceless!) and several monitoring options. I mix ITB with a Dangerous D box summing.monitoring setup. Aurora 16 ADA.  I do mostly my own original rock recordings, although I do occasional work for friends. I've been getting a handle on mixing over the last two years, and am starting to create some nice results.

I am a lover of saturation in mixing, and this STA preamp should be a big help in that direction.

Audified STA Preamp - Winner - Timothy Jackson

I am also known as LuckyLuck and I am CEO of MMIF "Money Making Incorporated Figers" , I'm a music producer, engineer, and advertising/marketing guy here in Jackson,Mississippi. I've been working with music in all aspects for about 10 years now and I have loved every minute of it. I've had songs on the radio both HipHop and Gospel, I've done shows and about all you can do to feed that hunger you develop when you're dealing with music. Through it all, nothing satisfied me more than producing and engineering the making of something out of what most would call a bunch of noise.

I am now doing something I call UHF, "Underground Housemusic Freestyle". Where I give inspiring artist a chance to come in and do their thing. I then fix it up and load it to my Soundcloud account, where I give them a chance to be heard. The STA Preamp, gives me a chance to add yet another element to my sound design and will give me a chance to put that vintage feel and the Summing Tube Amplifier (STA) adds a nonlinear distortion and servers as a exciter effect on my tracks that will take my sound to a new and refreshing level.

Audified STA Preamp - Winner - Bart Be Wit

For a little over a decade and a half I have been involved in live sound as a freelancer. I mostly operate at Front of House or as System Engineer but have been know to do the occasional job as the Monitor tech. In the last 2 years I have also started doing sound design for live shows and this is something I am very passionate about.

When I am not away on a show or tour, I try to do some recording, while mixing for some clients also happens while I am on the road. I use Pro Tools for all my editing/ mixing and PTE has been a great resource for learning how to use it more effectively.

Currently I am out on a show for Stage Entertainment Touring productions as the Senior Sound Engineer and the photo was taken at our FOH for the week. We had to use another daw for this show to negate track count and programability.

Recently I have been getting into colouring, enhancing if you will, recordings that sound dull or less tank exciting. I think the STA Preamp might be another tool that will work great in that respect. Thanks PTE and Audified.
