Softube Make Tonelux Tilt Their Plug-in Of The Month

Tonelux Tilt is essentially a one-knob equaliser from our friends at Softube which lets you get your sound in shape in no time. By adjusting the Tilt knob you can quickly go from thin to fat, and make the first coarse adjustments to your tracks before you move on to more detailed tweaking.

Professional mix engineers will tell you that one of the ways they work fast, is to get a mix in rough shape before you start thinking too much and this is exactly what Softube have designed Tonelux Tilt to achieve. Softube have made this video to demonstrate how you can use Tonelux Tilt...

Tilt It

The Tilt filter is designed to do what it says on the tin - if you activate it and turn the control knob clockwise, it will attenuate the lows and boost the highs. Go counterclockwise, and the opposite happens - the sound gets fatter and darker. Turn on or off the Loud switch to make the effect stronger or back to keep it more subtle. So by the twist of a single knob, you give your sound a basic and nice sounding frequency trimming.

Filter It

You can then move on to the gentle high and low pass filters, that are sweepable and switchable from -6dB to -12 dB per octave. Finally, you will find a polarity reversal switch and a gain knob.

Transformer Emulation

Softube's model of Tonelux Tilt also includes modeling of the transformer found in the Tonelux MP1a mic preamp. The transformer adds a subtle distortion for bass frequencies which fattens up the low end of a track.

Live Version Included Too

A special "Live" version of the Tilt plug-in is included, which is optimised for Digidesign VENUE and other live systems and contains features requested by live sound engineers.

Special Price For February 2016

For the rest of this month you can get the Softube Tonelux Tilt plug-in for $75 instead of the normal price of $99.
