Avid has recently discovered that some Pro Tools customers whose plans expired between January and March 2016 did not receive an email notification to renew their plan. So as not to penalise anyone whose upgrade plan expired in the first 3 months of this year, Avid are offering an extended grace period through to May 30th 2016, so they can renew their expired plan at the normal renewal price instead of the higher reinstatement price.
What should have happened is that Avid advises their customers when their Annual Upgrade Plan is coming up for renewal 3 ways...
- An alert in the software Application Manager
- Notification in the customer’s Avid Account (my.avid.com)
- An email reminder to renew their upgrade plan.
Because some of us aren't using the Application Manager because of ongoing issues with it, you could have easily missed the deadline if you also haven't been into your Avid Master Account recently.
Please be aware that only customers with an Annual Upgrade Plan for Pro Tools or Pro Tools HD that expired within first 3 months of 2016 are eligible for this grace period. After May 30, 2016, customers with expired Annual Upgrade Plans will need to purchase a new plan at the reinstatement price.
We also understand that customers taking advantage of this offer must activate the new upgrade plan by May 30th 2016.
