Released this week at the AES show in Los Angeles these stunning monitors not only look amazing but sound stunning.  Dynaudio Pro division product manager, Sebastian Rodens told us...

The M5P Evidence monitor is a passive floor-standing studio monitor specifically designed for mastering applications. It has been derived from the acclaimed Evidence Platinum High End speaker and is the first studio monitor to feature Dynaudio Directivity Control (DDC) which reduces reflections from floors and ceilings for delivering the highest possible level of transparency and details in reproduced audio to mastering engineers and other audio professionals. A speaker that allows you to hear what is really going on and that helps you to make those crucial decisions when tweaking the EQ or working with dynamics during a mastering session.

Specification Highlights

Being a far-field monitor, it is recommended to listen to M5P Evidence at a distance of 3 meters or more. The basic design is a 5-way crossover featuring 4 x 7” woofers, 2 x 5” midrange cones and 2 x 28mm tweeters with crossover frequencies at 290 Hz, 480 Hz, 2.2 kHz and 8.5 kHz. The frequency response area covers 28 Hz to 25 kHz and the speakers are capable of handling up to 550W at 4 Ohms. 

The Proof Is In The Listening

When I visited the Dynaudio factory in Denmark back in February I had the chance to listen to the M5P speakers and they sound incredible. I heard detail in tracks that I had never been able to hear before.  Sadly it has to be said that this level of quality does come with a price tag. No prices are available at the moment but these are not going to be what you might call an impulse buy. Oh, and then you need some amplifiers to drive them. Dynaudio are recommending two Bricasti Design M28 Monoblock amplifiers which is a case of if you have to ask the price.... then you can't afford them. 
These a not going to be seen in many home studios but for the professional mastering lab where sound is the ultimate goal at any cost, the M5P's will be worth a listen.
