Producer, song-writer, MPG Full Member CEO of Sociatech, and managing editor of the Production Expert family of sites, Russ Hughes is embarking on a new venture for the Music Producers Guild (MPG) - a base in Northern Ireland.

There is a thriving music scene in Northern Ireland and since Russ moved from London to Northern Ireland he has wanted to do something to support this community. Russ explains...

We hope to create a group based in NI to serve the interests of producers, mixers and engineers in the local area, and provide links to, and a direct association with, those working in London and the rest of the UK.

With this in mind, Russ has organised the very first MPG social event in Northern Ireland, to be held at Take 6 Studios, Newry on October 10th. This first event will include an open discussion outlining the aims of the MPG and what people want from a regional group. To lubricate the conversations drinks will be provided.
