Friday Free Plug-in - Typewriter - A Kontakt Instrument From Wavesfactory

In this week's Friday Free Plug-in, we are featuring the new Typewriter Kontakt Instrument from Wavesfactory.

Sampled at Calmaestudis recording studios using 4 mic positions: close stereo, stereo ribbon, mono and stereo room.

All the microphones are controllable from the Mixer page with pan, width, volume, load/purge and separate outputs for each channel.

In the Effects section, you can apply up to 8 different DSP effects including chorus, saturation, high-quality EQ and convolution reverb with more than 40 custom impulses.

From the Settings page, you can set the number of round robin repetitions, tweak the release volume, velocity curve and pre-shift or pre-roll of each sample individually.

Recorded with 3 velocity layers and 10 round robin, not only the keys but also paper noises and typewriter hits, rolls and much more. Separate note on and note off samples and one-shots as well.

Key Features

You can use Typewriter in Kontakt from Native Instruments. This means you can use it not only in Pro Tools but also Logic Pro, Studio One, Cubase, Ableton Live, in fact, any DAW that supports AU, VST or AAX plug-in formats.

Wavesfactory tell us that their free plug-ins and free Kontakt instruments are designed and built with the same care and attention to detail as their paid for plug-ins and Kontakt instruments. You can use their free plug-ins and Kontakt as long as you like, they are not demos and will not time-out in the middle of an important music production project.

Visit the Wavesfactory website to get your copy. Click on the Add To Cart button, enter your details, including your name and email address but you don't have to sign up for a newsletter if you would prefer not to. You will receive an email with the download link to Typewriter.

Being a sample library, the download is larger than a typical plug-in at 250Mb. Unpack the rar file using a suitable utility and navigate to the .nki file in the unpacked folder from the browser in your Kontakt plug-in in Pro Tools.
