In this video for Pro Tools Expert, Technical Editor James Ivey shows how he uses the Eiosis e2Deesser on drum overheads to control some of the top end harsh tones that can make the overall mix a little brittle sounding.  

James starts by letting us hear the mix as it sounds without the e2Deesser. He then zones in on the overhead channels and adds 2 instances of the e2Deesser, one to the overhead mic above the hi hat and one to the overhead mike over the floor tom. 

He then shows us how he adjusts the plug-ins setting to get just the right amount of gentle control over top end of the cymbals without affecting the overall drum sound.
