If you would in post production and find that you have to re-conform your audio edit and mix because of picture changes then our friends at The Cargo Cult would like your help in completing a short survey.

The Cargo Cult believe that Pro Tools needs better reconform options, but they tell us that there's not much more they can do until they have some integration with Pro Tools. Right now Conformalizer relies on sending simulated keyboard events to Pro Tools in order to make the recut.  It’s crude, slow, flakey, and easily broken.

The Cargo Cult are trying to collate some evidence to take to Avid and so they are asking for “victim statements” from the audio post-production community.

Whether we like it or not as Film, TV, Web and Game industry sound professionals, reconforming has become a part of our workflow, the days of a picture-lock are long gone. Nowadays picture changes are happening right up to release and we need toolsets and there is no doubt that we need toolsets to make reconforming as easy and painless as possible.

So if reconforming is part of your workflow then please consider filling out The Cargo Cult's short survey and help provide some evidence to help Avid to see the need for a new way of doing reconforms.
