In this video Pro Tools Expert Technical Editor James Ivey returns with a new 15 Minute Mix Challenge video, this time featuring plug-ins in the Slate Digital Everything Bundle.

James starts by playing the key parts of the track so you can hear what he has to work with. He then sets to work by creating a drum sound to give the track drive and power, then moving to bass to give the track a base on which to sit.  Vocals come next as he believes these are the 3 most important elements of any pop/rock song.  The rest of the instruments and vocals can then sit on this solid foundation never getting in the way of that all-important lead vocal.  

In just 15 minutes James creates a mix with much more punch and drive. Maybe on reflection, it could do with a touch less reverb but hey, that's the 15 minute challenge.
