It's time now to feature February 2017's winner of the monthly Sonnox Community Award, whereby we award the individual, who in the judge's opinion, made an outstanding ongoing contribution to the Pro Tools Expert community. The winner then gets to choose a plugin of their choice from the Sonnox Elite native bundle.

For February 2017 we have awarded it to Eugene Sedita (announced in podcast no. 259) for his encouraging and supportive advice to the community. Congratulations and thank you once again for your continuing contributions - keep the great comments coming! Over to you Eugene...

My name is Eugene Sedita, I am a producer/songwriter from Queens, NY. My roots are in pop and jazz, which led me to study classical theory & performance at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. It feels silly to say that I have been teaching myself the art of mixing and modern production for the past few years because the fact is I would be largely nowhere without the kindness and dedication of folks such as yourselves at Pro Tools Expert. I am currently writing, recording and mixing my own album, as one does, hopefully available by fall of 2017. During the day, I am a writing instructor at a community college in New York that has one of the most diverse student populations of any college in America, something I also take great pride in. I am hoping to someday hear one of my own songs blaring from the parking lot :) The Sonnox Oxford Limiter has been in my periphery for quite awhile now and I've always been amazed by the clarity and transparency that it provides. I would definitely categorize its sound as classy, which my mixes could always use more of! We all have an unreasonable amount of choice when it comes to plugin selection; however, the Oxford Limiter is a *strong* choice. Time and time again, it makes itself apparent to me how any successful piece of work requires a hundred or so small yet decisive actions, never one big moment of glory, which is unfortunately the narrative we're typically sold. So, I am very honored to be bestowed the Oxford Limiter and know that it will handle its role in my productions decisively and gracefully.
