In this free video tutorial, Pro Tools Expert team member Julian Rodgers compares the bx_console E and the bx_console G plug-ins from Plugin Alliance on a session to answer the question - just how different do these console emulations actually sound?
Nothing But bx_console E and bx_console G
In this tutorial Julian sets up a basic mix using nothing but bx_console E, he then instantiates bx_console G on every channel and copies the settings across. Because bx-console offers a choice of black and brown EQ on the E and red and brown or pink and black EQ on the G, he chose brown EQ on the E and pink and black EQ on the G to make the consoles as different as possible.
Tolerance Modelling Technology
Brainworx have modelled every channel on these consoles and the choice is offered to use any combination of channels in any order you like. The random channel buttons enable quick experiments with single channels or the entire mix. For this comparison Julian stays with channel 1 on every instance but if you would like to hear a comparison of this technology then please comment below.
