Nugen Audio Release Halo Upmix 3D Immersive Extension For Dolby Atmos And Ambisonics

Nugen Audio has released a new extension for their Halo Upmix - providing, even more, versatility for one of the most advanced solutions for surround upmixing, including Pro Tools 12.8HD native Dolby Atmos support and support for Ambisonics formats too.

What Can The 3D Immersive Extension Do?

The new 3D Immersive Extension builds on the Halo 9.1 Extension, and now includes an Ambisonic compatible output as an alternative to channel based output for VR, game and other immersive applications. This feature will facilitate re-purposing and converting channel based audio for an Ambisonic workflow.

Avid's latest Pro Tools version 12.8 allows native Dolby Atmos mixing. The Halo Upmix 3D Immersive Extension is now also fully compatible with Pro Tools 12.8, so you'll immediately be able to create immersive mixes and natively upmix to Atmos 7.1.2 stems and access the height channels within the plug-in without having to use an additional Send plug-in to access the height channels in your mix.

The 3D Immersive Extension introduces additional vertical controls via an expanded user interface including control over Ltm and Rtm placement for Dolby Atmos compatible placement. An additional real-time analysis view is also included for the vertical dimension, showing energy distribution of the output audio.

The enhanced upmix algorithm allows for simultaneous use of all the original features including dialog isolation and individual channel output control.

The Halo Upmix 3D Immersive Extension currently supports Avid Protools (AAX) & Steinberg Nuendo (VST3) for Windows and OSX.
