In this video for Pro Tools Expert, Technical Editor James Ivey talks about the new Gatehouse Studio at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios. Abbey Road Senior Recordist John Barrett talks about the new studio and the equipment.

Abbey Road is coming to the end of a renovation and upgrade program and the Gatehouse is one of the new studio and recording spaces to be added to the already well-known and well-loved studios 1, 2 and 3.

James and John, talk a little about the history of Abbey Road and some of the reasons for the development of the Gatehouse. They also talk about the centrepiece to this new room the stunning Neve BCM10 Mk 2 and how it's old-school workflow mixed with new school features makes this the perfect desk for the Gatehouse. 

A trip to Abbey Road would not be complete without some mention of their amazing microphone and outboard collection some of which has made its way into the racks in the Gatehouse.
