Spectrum Analysers

Most people don't have the luxury of truly full range monitoring and while listening is always best, using a spectrum analyser can help identify issues at the bottom of the low end. The biggest frustration I've found with spectrum analysers - visual latency between the audio and the spectrum display has really improved as computers have become faster.

Visualiser2 is as fast as any I have ever used but if you push the FFT size up to get greater precision inthe display, there is inevitably an increased load on the computer's CPU. In this application this doesn't have to be a problem as small FFT sizes still give adequate detail for the bottom end so even modestly powered computers can benefit from fast responsive spectrum analysis.
