Tip - Link Track And Edit Selection In Pro Tools

See this content in the original post

In this free video tutorial, Pro Tools Expert team member Julian Rodgers looks at the Link Track And Edit Selection button in Pro Tools.

I Get What it Does But What Is It For?

In the past I've overlooked this button as, unlike its related neighbour Link Timeline And Edit Selection it never really seemed to offer any functionality which I couldn't get in other ways.

What it does is easy to understand. The clue is very much in the name in that, when engaged, any track on which an edit selection is made gets selected. A track selection is when the name of that track is highlighted white.

In this video Julian offers some suggestions such as quickly selecting tracks for group creation based on the contents of the timeline rather than from the track headers. Please share your suggestions for workflow tips using this feature in the comments below.
