In this week's Friday Free Plug-in, we are featuring the Klanghelm DC1A Compressor, which is a simple and surprisingly characterful compressor.

The DC1A is the little brother of the Klanghelm DC8C. It takes a few favourite settings from DC8C and makes them work via a two control interface. Sound wise it's comparable to the PUNCH mode in DC8C but offers a few additional features, such as negative ratio and stereo unlink. Its a compressor with just an input and output knob, a compressor which just works: from almost invisible, smooth levelling to heavy pumping with crunchy saturation and enough punch for drums.

DC1A looks like a one trick pony. But don't get fooled by the lack of additional controls. You may be surprised at how much different material this little thing works. Note that the DC1A is heavily program dependent.
