In this free video tutorial, brought to you with the support of Waves, you will learn how to quickly remove or attenuate vocal breaths between melody lines using Waves DeBreath plug-in in Pro Tools.
Out of the box, DeBreath will get you 95% of the way there in terms of debreathing, however, the plug-in features fade in and fade out timing controls along with a reduction slider that will enable you to dial in the perfect amount of debreathing on your vocal tracks. If used on an insert, Waves DeBreath will produce a significant amount of track delay so use either AudioSuite or Track Commit in Pro Tools to render the results of DeBreath to the audio clip after you have dialled in your settings.
Watch this free tutorial to hear DeBreath in action and to learn how to use DeBreath to either remove vocal breaths completely or reduce them in the mix.
