This is a very simple tip for Pro Tools Ultimate/HD users who have access to advanced automation. Typically when starting an automation pass I’ll be fine tuning levels until I’ve reached a balance I’m happy with to take forward as a starting point. Pro Tools automation can accommodate this using the Write To Start buttons found in the Automation window.
Right Click In The Transport Window
While I’d argue that if you are using Automation you should have the Automation window open, if you don’t then a useful way to access the Write To Start, Write To All and Write To End commands is by right-clicking the Return To Zero or Go To Session End buttons in the Transport Window.
