This free video tutorial is the first in a new series for Pro Tools Expert, Technical Editor James Ivey talks with Grammy-nominated and Pensado Award-winning recording and mix engineer Steve Genewick about his mix template and session setup. 

This series follows on from James' own series on Mix Prep in Pro Tools. Steve, having watched these videos is able to compare his ideas with those of James and offer his take on session layout, track colouring, routing and bussing. 

Steve starts this video by stripping out the session that has been provided to him by the client. getting rid of unused or unwanted tracks but still making sure he can get back to them if needed. 

This series just goes to show there are a great many ways to use Pro Tools to mix a song or music track. Take from this what you will and add it to your workflow.
