See this content in the original post

In this premium video tutorial, Pro Tools Expert Technical Editor, James Ivey shows you three tips for recording and mixing with Pro Tools using a large format analogue console.

The first trick James shows you is how to have Pro Tools cascade your I/O so assigning the inputs and outputs from your console is very quick and easy. This is also a good trick to use anytime you have a high number of ins or outs.

James then talks about how he spreads tracks across the console once recorded into Pro Tools choosing to subgroup instruments inside Pro Tools and bring these groups back to the desk in stereo pairs.

Finally, James talks about printing your mix back through your interface back to Pro Tools.

These are just some of the little tricks James has started to employ since switching to a more hybrid workflow using an analogue console.
