PerfectSurround has released another update of their amazing Penteo 16 Pro combined upmixing and downmixing plugin which enables users to chose between two DSP extraction methods when upmixing to 5.1 or 7.1.

Back in September 2019, PerfectSurround released Penteo 16 Pro as their latest upmixing plug-in, which opened up the Penteo upmixing technology to the full range of immersive formats up to 16 channels including 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos up to 9.1.6, Auro 3D up to 13.1, DTSX and up to 3rd order Ambisonics. What is more Penteo 16 Pro became both an upmix and a downmix plug-in in one interface and enables you to go from different channel counts and formats in the one plug-in.

Then in November 2019, PerfectSuppound released their first update to Penteo 16 Pro and took the number of different upmix and downmix options to over 40.

Two Different DSP Extraction Methods

When upmixing to 5.1 or 7.1 with this latest update, users of Penteo 16 Pro will now be able to toggle between two different DSP Extraction Methods - either the method used in Penteo 7 Pro or the method used in the Penteo 16 Pro, you can now choose the option that sounds better on the material you are working on.

• On-Phase Legacy DSP channel extraction for up to 7 channels - This is the same DSP found in Penteo 7 Pro but now accessible from within Penteo 16 Pro.

• Off-Phase DSP channel extraction for 3D immersive channels - This is the same DSP found in Penteo 16 Pro.

Time Saver: Because of this feature, you can now use Penteo 16 Pro to run any session that used Penteo 7 Pro without having to have both plugins active on your system.
