Everybody loves a big, beefy kick drum. If your kick is lacking and EQ isn’t fixing it, you might think replacing it with a sample is the way to go but there is a way you can add bottom end to a kick using a plug-in you already have but might not have used in quite this way before.

Is It The Signal Generator Trick?

No, the subtone trick is great but inevitably gives a “one-note” effect. There are some other ways to help a kick which is lacking, Metric Halo’s Thump is awesome, and free, but if you’d prefer to stick to stock plug-ins, or you are using someone else’s system maybe this trick is all you need.
