As we reported in our article Pro Tools Users - Read This Before Updating To Pro Tools 2020.9 - UPDATED: Voice Count NOT An Intentional Change Pro Tools Vanilla 2020.9 unintentionally was released with a reduced voice count. Avid have now released Pro Tools 2020.9.1 to resolve this.
The updated version is being added into users’ Avid Master Accounts but it may take a little while until it is posted in everyone’s account.
Avid say…
“Pro Tools 2020.9.1 fixes a major issue that was introduced in our earlier 2020.9.0 release, where the available voice count was decremented by half the intended value. This issue only affected our Pro Tools software (non-Ultimate) customers.
The voice count has now been restored to the same value as previous versions of the software.
Details are as follows:
44.1/48kHz - 256 Voices across 128 mono or stereo audio tracks
88.2/96kHz - 128 Voices across 128 mono or stereo audio tracks
176.4/192kHz - 64 Voices across 128 mono or stereo audio tracks”
