Avid has announced that version 5.4.5 of the DADman software, which is needed if you are using an Avid MTRX or MTRX Studio, is now supported with macOS Big Sur and Pro Tools 2021.3. We have the details.
Avid has emailed their users with this announcement…
“We are pleased to inform you that, DADman (version 5.4.5) now supports macOS Big Sur on Intel Macs.
With the release of Pro Tools 2021.3, which introduced support for macOS Big Sur on Intel Macs, we recommended that Pro Tools MTRX and MTRX Studio owners wait to upgrade their macOS until DADman is fully supported on Big Sur.
Now, with the release of DADman 5.4.5, MTRX and MTRX Studio owners can upgrade their macOS.
Please note, however, that Pro Tools software, hardware, and Avid control surfaces are not officially supported on Apple silicon (M1) computers at this time. We are continuing to work with Apple to bring you full support in the future. Once we know more, we will provide an update.
