Operation Changes

Input Configuration and Binaural Render Mode

  • Dolby has added ‘industry standard’ predefined group names when configuring input groups and rerendering.

  • When a master file is loaded Dolby has changed the display of key information in the main window, input configuration, the trim and downmix controls window and binaural render mode window. It will also alert you with a colour change when the master configuration differs to the I/O setup in your DAW as well as showing a popup alert to prevent you from dropping into record in a mismatched open master file.

Spatial Coding

  • The default number of spatial coding elements in the Processing tab of the Preferences window has been changed to 14.

Trim and Downmix Controls

  • For 5.1 downmixes Dolby has renamed ‘Direct Render With Warp’ to Direct Render With Room Balance to better reflect the processing applied.

  • The Direct Render To Stereo option has been removed and the 5.1 Trim control and been renamed to 5.1 and 2.0. This is because all 2.0 mixes are derived from the 5.1 downmix.

Loudness Measurements

  • In the main window, real-time loudness measurements now reset when a master file is closed.

Exports

  • In re-render exports, you now have the option to expert re-renders as multi-mono files without channel numbers.

  • Binaural and stereo re-enders can now be exported as multi-mono files.

  • You can now tab between the export input and output fields.

  • In mp4 exports film encoding options now exports at either 768kbps or 448kbps, whereas music encoding options are always set to 768kbps.

Atmos Master File Set

  • The file structure to the Dolby Atmos Master File Set has been changed. The .dvmb files are no longer included in the master file set.
