A 19-year-old man from West Monroe, LA has swapped his DAW for a third time in 2 years in an effort to improve the quality of his songs.
Writing in capital letters on his own Facebook page, several brand Facebook pages and numerous audio-related forums, Todd Bartum, said he was moving for a third time as he felt let down by his previous experiences of DAWs.
Speaking to us he said he felt it was his duty to let other people know; “I have never made music before but my mum and my girlfriend told me I could literally be the next big thing after seeing me do karaoke at my bro’s wedding. So I got a laptop from Target and downloaded the software I see top producers using on YouTube. But it’s all bullshit, I’ve spent weeks messing with the software and none of my stuff sounds like the stuff on the radio.”
When asked about the cost of three DAWs and if it was worth it, he replied; “They cost me nothing as I stream them off Russian websites, but I am pissed that it’s taking up time I could be spending playing my games console. I used to be the top player on Counter Strike and now that’s gone to shit because of this.”
Asked why he thought switching DAW may be the solution he said; “It has to be the DAW, why else would my songs sound so bad? There’s literally millions of songs being released every day so it can’t be that hard can it?”
We asked why he felt the need to write everything online in capital letters to which he replied: “It makes the letters bigger and people think you are smarter if you use big words.”
