It gives us at Production Exert great pleasure to announce the winner of all of the Arturia 3 FX You Will Actually Use packages worth £720 as Ron Skinner of Ontario, Canada.

Ron Skinner began his career as a musician in Southwest Ontario. Growing up a stone’s throw from one of the world's greatest music cities, Detroit, which had a major impact on his musical tastes and sensibilities. By the time he was in high school Skinner had committed himself to the art of audio and became the go-to live sound person in his local music scene. Skinner attended the Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. Studying under legendary music producer Jack Richardson, Skinner spent three years honing the craft of recording and music production.

After graduating from the Music Industry Arts program Skinner began working as a recording engineer and producer in Toronto and continues in this capacity today. Building on his experience as a recording engineer and producer, Skinner opened Heading North Mastering in 1997. Since then, he has mastered projects for a wide range of musicians, including Dan Mangan, Elliott Brood, the Juno nominated Dave Young and the Grammy-nominated Jane Bunnett, to name just a few. Heading North Mastering is located in the picturesque village of Port Stanley on Lake Erie in Ontario, Canada.

Skinner also recently started a Jazz-based record label called TQM Recording Co. TQM just released its first full-length album by Toronto guitarist Trevor Giancola. An album that is earning high praise both in Canada and internationally, The Album also features Saxophone great Seamus Blake. TQM Recording Co's goal is to record acoustic Jazz in interesting acoustic spaces.

“I only recently became aware of Arturia. I was searching for 1176 style plug-ins that would run natively and a colleague recommended the 3 Compressors you will actually use bundle. When I saw this contest I thought I would give it a shot. I'm pretty pleased that I won. I plan on using the compressors as a compliment to my analogue outboard gear when mixing. I recently downloaded the Rev Plate 140 from Arturia and have been very impressed. So, I'm also looking forward to trying the delays, pre-amps and filters on my mixes.”
