Winner - Novation 61SL III Controller Keyboard Worth £479

It gives us at Production Exert great pleasure to announce the winner of the Novation 61SL III controller keyboard worth £479 as Jussi Kraft of Helsinki, Finland.

My interest in audio started quite early, and I bought a Fostex 4-track cassette recorder from my first paycheck from my summer job. Later when our band was making our first demo in a real studio, I knew what I wanted to do for a living. After many other jobs, I got a chance to work at one of the biggest studio in Finland as an assistant and learned a lot from the great artists and producers working there. Now, many years later I'm working as a recording engineer for audiobook production, location sound recordist, mixing engineer and a sound designer for TV and film in a production company, where my small studio is located. I still do some music recording and mixing in other studios, but not so much as I used to.

I always liked using hardware when I got the chance but liked the flexibility of plugins and software. The hands-on experience is still important for me because it makes my job easier, faster and much more enjoyable. The Novation 61SL MkIII Controller Keyboard will give me just that. With music and sound design, the soft synths and instruments are a big part of my work, so this keyboard is going to be my main tool for music creation. The capabilities just seem endless with this device. I don’t have any hardware synths or sound modules, but the Novation 61SL with its CV outputs might just be the perfect excuse to buy one.

Throughout December we offered the opportunity for over 30 people to win a prize of your choice from an amazing bundle of prizes that we pulled together from our generous partners, worth around £30,000.

Each day, we took a closer look at each of the prizes in turn. Today we are looking at the Novation 61SL III Controller Keyboard worth $610.

Win Novation 61SL III Controller Keyboard

The Novation 61 note SL MkIII is far from an ordinary controller keyboard. Think of it as an all-sequencing, all-dancing hub for all of your music-making. The centrepiece to connect, control and create with your entire setup. Whether you use a computer or not.

Control Right Where You Need It

The new 61 SL MkIII from Novation lets you get straight to work with your favourite hardware with all the benefits of a DAW at your fingertips. There is no need to look at a computer screen. Pull your DAW out of the box and combine it with your hardware synths and connect everything up via the SL MkIII. You can then easily control everything with highly customisable mappings for your hardware and software. Or create your own in the software editor.

Internal Eight-Track Pattern-Based Sequencer

Input notes step-by-step, or record in realtime then play and edit your sequences directly from the SL MkIII. Then record parameter automation changes straight onto the sequencer and bring your productions to life. You can then choose an arpeggiator type, set the sync rate, tweak notes and pattern lengths, and use the pads to design your rhythms all in real-time.

It’s All About Feel

SL MkIII boasts Novation’s finest and most playable synth-style semi-weighted keybed, with a sprung action that has been tuned to the needs of the experienced player. The keys also have aftertouch which is assignable to anything. This is a real performer’s tool and you can see scales, modes and zones instantly with vibrant on-key RGB LED feedback.

The SL MkIII's velocity-sensitive RGB pads have multiple functions too. They can be used for launching clips, as steps in the sequencer, for finger drumming, and all have polyphonic aftertouch. Everything you need at the centre of your production work-flow.
