Siegfried Koelewijn was bitten by the music bug at a very young age and had to do something with it. As a professional recording engineer since around 2002, he records and mixes all kinds of music from Jazz to Metal. He especially likes working with bands, as he likes the interaction and the great ideas you can come up with together.

“As an engineer, you can add to the creative process, and you can work with your client to achieve the best results possible using different hard- or software solutions.

If you have a choice in the gear you use, and you know how to make that choice, you can make better recordings, and as a result, you can focus on a beautiful mix instead of fixing errors.

I mainly use ProTools, and for vocals, I’m used to working (as far as tubes go) with Brauner VM1 or Lauten Audio Horizon tube mics. These are both on the bright side, and I hope the Warm Audio WA- 251 will indeed be warm, more mellow. That would be a great addition to my arsenal. Besides that, I also want to try it out on guitars and drums, of course.”
