Mac OS Mojave Now Supported With The Release Of Universal Audio 9.8 Software

With the recent release of UAD software version 9.8 the team at Universal Audio are now very pleased to announce full support for Mac OS 10.14 also known at Mojave.

What You Need To Know

UAD software 9.8 is indeed support by Mac OS Mojave but there are 4 very important steps you need to take to be able to use UAD plug-ins and UA hardware successfully. This just in from the UA website.

UAD v9.8 software is tested and compatible with macOS Mojave. With Mojave, OS system security requires the four manual steps below to enable UAD software. All configuration details for each of these steps are provided in this article.

  • Allow access control during UAD software installation & after restart
    (click “OK” in two dialogs)

  • Allow UAD software in System Preferences > Security & Privacy
    (click “Allow” after installation)

  • (Apollo/Arrow) Allow audio inputs in System Preferences > Security & Privacy
(click “OK” in microphone access dialog)

  • (Apollo/Arrow) Allow Console keystroke passthrough in System Preferences > Security & Privacy (for DAW transport control)

A full list of instructions for setting up these 4 steps is available from the Universal Audio Support website.

Are We There Yet?

It is great news that Universal Audio has now announced macOS Mojave compatibility.

However we are not there yet. Although Avid have announced that support for macOS Mojave will come with the the release of Pro Tools 2019, we do not know when that will be yet.

For other DAW users we would recommend that you check our fully searchable database for audio software and plug-ins to see if all the tools you use are fully compatible with macOS Mojave.
