Antelope Audio Release the 3rd Generation Of Their Goliath HD Audio Interface With Free Edge Duo Modelling Microphone

Antelope Audio has announced that the Gen 3 version of their Goliath HD | Gen 3 is now available. The latest version comes with brand-new AD/DA converters designed to achieve a 136dB dynamic range on its monitor outputs, The interface also comes a complimentary Edge Duo microphone with switchable polar patterns and realtime mic modelling via its onboard FPGA-powered emulations and Accusonic mic preamps.

Thunderbolt, USB 3, DigiLink And MADI Dante Bridge

The Goliath HD Gen 3 interface has been designed to work with any DAW connecting to Mac and Windows computers with 192 kHz audio over Thunderbolt, USB 3.0, MADI (to Dante Bridge) and to Pro Tools HD systems via DigiLink.

In addition for Pro Tools HDX users, the Goliath HD Gen 3 comes with proprietary HDX Compensation Delay technology designed to ensure that any analogue or digital input routed through to Pro Tools arrives ‘as a sample-accurate signal source’, while Antelope’s Thunderbolt driver is designed to deliver 64 channels of simultaneous playback and recording at up to sub-millisecond latency. Additionally, a latency-free direct monitoring setup with four independent internal mixers, each with 32 assignable inputs, is also available.

Analog I/O

In the analogue domain, the Goliath HD Gen 3 includes 16 Accusonic mic preamps with mic modelling support for the included Edge Duo microphone’s 11 emulations - Berlin 47, Berlin 49T, Berlin 57, Berlin 87, Berlin 67, Berlin M103, Tokyo 800T, Vienna 12, Vienna 414, Oxford 4038, and Sacramento 121R; two analogue inserts; and four instrument inputs, alongside an additional 16 analogue inputs via two D-SUB 25 connectors, while 32 analogue outputs over four D-SUB 25 connectors, two transformer re-amp outputs and two independently-assignable headphone outputs bring the total to 38 analogue outputs.

  • Gyraf Gyratec X (true tube stereo compressor)

  • PowerEx (in-house expander)

  • PowerFFC (feedforward compressor)

  • PowerGate (noise gate)

  • VCA-160 (VCA-style compressor)

  • VEQ-1A (vintage tube EQ)

  • VEQ-HLF (Pultec-style high- and low-pass filter)

  • VMEQ-5 (midrange EQ)

  • Stay-Levin (American tube compressor)

  • x903 (natural-sounding compressor)

  • Plus 11 guitar amps and 11 guitar cabinets.

Clocks And Display

Antelope Audio’s latest 64-bit Acoustically Focused Clocking jitter management system, Class-A mic preamps and ‘audiophile-grade’ AD/DA conversion have been designed to come together to deliver top-tier, studio-quality sound.

The clocking can be distributed to suitably-equipped external studio equipment via Goliath HD Gen 3’s twin WC OUT (Word Clock outputs) on BNC connectors. In addition, Antelope Audio’s 10M Rubidium Atomic Clock can be used for reference (connected on BNC via the dedicated 10M IN input).

The centrepiece of the front panel is still a 3.5-inch high-resolution TFT touchscreen display designed to offer immediate access to metering, preferences, gain adjustment, and mission-critical functionality of the audio interface.
