Universal Audio Issue An Advisory Notice About Using Apollo & Arrow Interfaces With The AMS Neve RMX16 UAD-2 Plug-In

The team at Universal Audio have today issued an advisory notice to all UAD-2, Apollo and Arrow interface customers about an issue that has been discovered with the UAD-2 AMS Neve RMX16 plug-in running as part of their 9.10 software release.

Universal Audio state:

We have unfortunately discovered a nasty bug with the UAD AMS RMX16 and UAD AMS RMX16 Expanded Reverb plug-ins when used with UAD software v9.10, released on Tuesday.

Specifically, when the RMX16 Reverb plug-ins are used on an AUX return in the Console app, they can produce full-volume audio noise in the monitor outputs — and it can't be turned down with your interface's Volume control (yikes!). Mute still works though.

We are now working with AMS Neve on understanding the issue and addressing it as quickly as possible, but in the meantime, please do not use the AMS RMX16 or RMX16 Expanded plug-in on AUX returns in Console.

Note that the issue does not occur with UAD software v9.9 and earlier versions, so if you are currently using the RMX16 or RMX16 Expanded plug-ins in sessions with v9.10, please install v9.9 instead to continue working with the RMX16 (software links below).

Thank you for your patience. We'll provide a UAD software update / fix as soon as we understand the issue and have a solution.

Many thanks to the UA team for getting this news out to us and potentially avoiding damage to many users monitoring systems. We will of course let you know as soon as it is all clear to re-install the latest version of the UAD-2 software. Rest assured there are some very smart people pulling an all-nighter or two to fix this issue.
