DADman Software and AX32 Firmware Updates - Now Mojave Compatible - Good News For Avid MTRX Users Too

The latest release of the DADman software adds macOS Mojave compatibility, and an additional AX32 firmware update (version 2.3.0.1) which offers more features and greater ease of use.

Mojave Support

DADman version 5.3.4 is now available for download and adds Apple macOS Mojave compatibility for AX32 and DX32R - and it supports all colour profiles. Please note that the DADman version 5.3.4 is also available for Windows.

DADman Isn’t Just For DAD Products

Don’t forget that Avid MTRX users also depend on the DADman software. For some Pro Tools users this may have been the final holdup, that until now, has prevented them from updating to macOS Mojave.

Firmware Update Gives Greater Integration

By updating the AX32 firmware to version 2.3.0.1 users gain the ability to navigate connected devices much faster and more easily by adding custom names to external MADI, Dante and SDI interfacesFor Dante channels, the names given to Dante devices in the Audinate Dante controller are reflected within the DADman GUI. With MADI devices, both inputs and outputs can be individually named, giving a quick overview without having to cross reference between Dante controller and DADman

Finally, if you have SDI embedder/de-embedder cards installed in your AX32, each interface can be given a unique name, which is applied to both input and output.

Mojave Compatibility? Isn’t This Late?

With Catalina just around the corner DAD are aware that Mojave compatibility at this stage is later than they would have liked. Given the time it has taken some brands to update their products, with Pro Tools itself taking a long time to finally get Mojave compatibility, it is apparent that Mojave has a been a particularly challenging OS for some software developers to achieve compatibility with. However the signs are promising for more speedy compatibility with Catalina, with some brands commenting that with Mojave compatibility complete, the move to Catalina looks much simpler - we hope they are right.

DAD had the following comment about the time it has taken them to support Mojave:

“We always strive to support the latest macOS and Windows versions out there. We are, however, painfully aware that this particular Mojave update has been awaited for a while, but please rest assured that keeping up with new versions of operating systems - including macOS and Windows - is indeed a priority to us.

Just like we strive to keep adding new features and options to our own software and hardware. Because it is of utmost importance to us that you are have no doubt that our AX-platform is indeed future-proof, ever-evolving and not least a lasting solution for all of your format conversion and audio-routing needs. And we have no plans of changing that!”
