Antelope Audio Respond To Queries About HDX Activation Pricing For New Goliath HD Gen 3 Interface

When Antelope announced the continuation of their Generation 3 hardware roll out with the Goliath HD Gen 3 It at first glance seemed like an attractive package, especially for professionals looking for a fully featured high-end interface. Following some comments from the community, we asked Antelope why there are charging $1999 USD to get full Avid HD/HDX compatibility. Here is their response…

“The new Goliath HD Gen 3 is offered for the price of $5,995, which despite the improved specs is actually less than the price of the original Goliath HD ($6,995). In terms of specs, what is crucial to mention here is the increase in the dynamic range of the Monitor converter of Goliath HD Gen 3, which is now up to 136dB.

  • The Goliath HD Gen 3 also includes a complimentary Edge Duo Modeling Mic, so all users can benefit from Antelope’s mic modeling technology, straight out of the box. This in itself offers an additional value of $900.

  • All Goliath HD Gen 3 users also receive 25% off their first effects order from the website, which can be applied to a purchase of the whole effects portfolio or the purchase of a single effect.

  • The HDX ports are made optional and their activation can be purchased separately for $1999, which means $1000 for 32 channels per HDX Port. So that’s 2 HDX ports, providing 64 channels in total for just $1,999.

In addition to that, users who purchase and activate the HDX ports receive an additional 50% off the price of their next effects purchase. This means that if they wish to buy a single effect or the rest of the effects portfolio within their next effects purchase, they can do either right away. The pricing of all Antelope FPGA-based effects has been adjusted and updated on the Antelope website, so that now, all users can acquire almost the entire effects library in a much more cost-effective manner.

In Summary: by merging the two previous devices [Goliath and Goliath HD] into one unit, making the HDX connectivity optional and pricing the device at $5,995, Antelope have made the new improved Goliath HD Gen 3 attractive and accessible to all existing Goliath owners, both those that actively use the HDX and those who don't work with HDX.”
