During the month of May, we ran a prize draw competition for existing iZotope product owners, giving people the opportunity to win everything that iZotope makes, that you don’t already own.
We can now announce the winners are David Carlsson, Ronny Wikmark and Jeff Jepson.
David Carlsson - Winner of The First Prize
1st prize was every iZotope product in their range, that people don’t already own, and where appropriate the Advanced version and David was the lucky winner of this package….
“I'm a Bass player, Engineer and Producer who started out on a Tascam 144 back in the ’80s and since 1999 co-owns and runs the legendary Gula Studion in Malmö, Sweden, which is centred around a Neve 8014. Over the years I've had the pleasure to have worked with artists like Suede, The Cardigans, OK Go, Martha Wainwright and many more.
As a tech geek and problem solver who loves to build stuff, I've always had a very intuitive connection to gear. But, a musician at heart my main focus and driving force from the early days on was to provide the often missing link between the world of audio engineering and the musicians, so I always work towards not having the technical stuff get in the way of the music.
I’ve been using iZotope Ozone for a while now with great results, and now having the complete range of iZotope products I will have a whole palette of problem solving and creative tools at my disposal.
I'm especially stoked on the RX range since I work on a lot of acoustic and very dynamic recordings. If we have a perfect take with a jazz trio for example, and there is an unwanted sustain pedal squeak on an otherwise magical take, I can relax, knowing it won’t be a problem. This is a perfect example of not letting the tech come in the way of the musical performance.”
Ronny Wikmark - Winner Of The Second Prize
2nd prize is every iZotope product in their range, that people don’t already own, and where appropriate the Standard version and Ronny is the lucky winner…
“I am a producer/songwriter & keyboard player originally from Finnsnes, Norway. In 1989 I moved to Trondheim where I founded the production-company Touchdown Music. I began performing and touring steadily with a wide variety of musical acts, from the musical comedy-adventure ‘Knutsen & Ludvigsen’ to the hard rock band ‘Stage Dolls’.
My skillset includes producing, songwriting, arranging, recording engineer, vocal coaching; piano/ keys, drums, bass, recording, editing, mixing, mastering. I am now the owner of a fully equipped recording studio with industry-standard digital and analog equipment located in Trondheim/Norway and a member of several Norwegian bands.
Having been involved in countless single, EP and album productions from a wide range of musical genres, my productions have been warmly embraced by the public, received good (sometimes not so good;) press in music blogs and achieved airplay on both national and international radio stations.
Beyond that, I have been involved in several acts that have been nominated and won the Norwegian Grammy (Spellemannsprisen). I am also a composer/music producer for television, including NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) and Norwegian TV2.
iZotope makes fantastic tools for music production and mastering. I´ve been using Vocal-Synth, Neutron, Vinyl, Trash 2 every day. The best thing about iZotope is the creative features that make every session and every song an inspiring day at work. When a song is created, I tend to use a lot of their tools in the mix and their mastering-tools have an easy and complex user-interface at the same time. For me, music-production is all about solving problems and coming up with solutions that can make the song, production or sound-design stand out. iZotope have tools that help me all the way from idea to master and I am looking forward to using more of iZotope’s tools.”
Jeff Jepson - Winner Of The Third Prize
3rd prize is their Spire Studio recording system, as long as people already own a paid-for iZotope product and Jeff Jepson is the lucky winner...
“I'm a singer-songwriter, guitarist and audio engineer, based in the Isle of Man. I’ve been recording myself since I was 14 years old, and have been recording other bands and artists for nearly twenty years, mostly on ProTools, branching out into Logic recently.
I’ve performed live with the likes of Martin Carthy, Slow Club, Dodgy and The Fratellis, and was part of a live guitar-based music scene in Liverpool including Tramp Attack, The Wombats and Eugene McGuinness.
I record mostly acoustic guitar-based music, but also collaborate with electronic composers, and am currently working on a remote mixing project for Louis Romegoux.
I’m obsessed with recording, always learning, and always buying more plugins!
I’m constantly getting new ideas for songs: I have a Patreon page in which I provide my patrons with a new recording every month, so I have to keep coming up with new material.
I’ll get a song idea any time of the day, and usually just take out my iPhone to record it and I have a catalogue of scratchy recordings from my various phones over the years!
The Spire Studio will revolutionise this process, allowing me to come up with polished, spontaneous new material that I could send out with a really fast turnaround. I can’t wait to use it!”
If you would like the chance to win a prize like these they check out our Win page where each month you will find different competitions with a wide variety of prizes on offer.
