Winner Of A Pair Of Kali Audio LP8 Studio Monitors Announced

During July we offered you the opportunity to win a pair of Kali Audio LP8 studio monitors worth $500. These are the bigger brother to the LP6 which we reviewed recently. We can now announce that the winner of the LP8s is Larnie Moles.

Larnie Moles

“I am contracted as a Junior Creative (audio) at BBC Creative, in the house creative agency at the BBC. Here I make radio trails for all of the BBC radio stations from all the national, regional and local stations, plus World Service content - and additional post-production for social media. This is very close being on the station sound/imaging team but spreads across all networks championing BBC content. With the upturn of working practices, currently, I am very lucky to be working from home, however, I have been using my KRK monitors which we all know are bass-heavy for mixing”.

As we saw in our review, the Kali Audio LP6 has redefined what can be achieved for at the very bottom of the price ladder. As we said in our review “It’s not hard to make something great with an unlimited budget. It’s a real achievement to do it to a pinchingly tight price point”.

The Kali Lone Pine monitors are an amazing achievement. By Kali’s own admission the LP6 isn’t quite the best speaker in the (Lone Pine) LP range, that would be the LP8. The bigger bass driver and larger amplifier mean a little more bass extension and more headroom and a greater listening distance making them suitable for use in a larger room.

With Larnie working from home what will she be doing?

“So winning these speakers will enable me to complete the home studio. (Which due to current situation s needs rebuilding!) From my ‘day job’, to my hobbies for DJing and producing DnB/Jungle, these speakers will help to improve my mixing ability at home! The capabilities of these speakers are going to get my out of my headphones and provide that unaffected audio master - so I can mix for each platform accordingly. Plus the Boundary EQ control is massively going to help my currently portable studio until I am back in one place… but these are going to take pride of place (obviously). Thank you!”
