Avid Preview New Pro Tools Features For Better Integration With Media Composer At NAB 2024

The NAB show starts today and runs April 14-17 2024, Avid are exhibiting at Booth SU2014 of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Shows like this are always an opportunity for Avid to offer a Technical Preview of features they have in the pipeline and we can expect in the near future. At NAB 2024 Avid are showing some features they have showed at other events, notably the Tech Preview at the 2024 NAMM show. Examples include:

  • ARA integration of iZotope RX Spectral Editor in Pro Tools

  • ARA integration of Sound Radix Auto Align Post in Pro Tools

  • ARA SynchroArts integration of Synchro Arts RePitch in Pro Tools

But as well as these previously announced features Avid will be showing some previously unseen features. Given the nature of the NAB show and its intended audience there is a particular focus on the improved interoperability features between Pro Tools and Media Composer, as part of the Marker improvements announced in Pro Tools 2023.6.

Three new Media Composer related Pro Tools features are being previewed:

  • Saving of Pro Tools sessions as Media Composer-compatible files, complete with sample-accurate volume and pan information, plus markers.

  • Drag and drop of Pro Tools sessions directly into Media Composer bins.

  • Being able to export a Pro Tools session that can be opened in Media composer

  • New workflow which allows import of timeline comments made in Dropbox Replay directly into Pro Tools. See the video below.

Check out the video below to find out more. The Pro Tools-specific section starts at 14.40
