CEDAR Audio announced their new CEDAR VoicEX plug-in for VST, AU and AAX platforms. VoicEX has just two knobs - one to determine the loudness of the background and the other to control the loudness of the speech. We have the details.

Today they have announced their next iteration in software audio restoration tools, the VoicEX.

This next step forward has been made possible by CEDAR adopting a different approach to voice extraction. Rather than try to gauge the noise level at each frequency and suppress this, with VoicEX, they have chosen to train a neural network algorithm to identify the voices in the signal and create two audio streams - one containing just the voices and the other containing everything else. This approach has been designed to make VoicEX very simple to use. With VoicEX, you will find just two knobs - one to determine the loudness of the background and the other to control the loudness of the speech. Consequently, when you reduce the background, unwanted sounds like noise or excessive reverberation are reduced. If you reduce the speech control, the voices go away, giving you a ‘clean’ background.

CEDAR VoicEX Is Out Now

There's no waiting for VoicEX to be released; CEDAR says it's available now. However, CEDAR has not published the price on its website. There are some rumours it is costly, but we cannot verify this. Instead, they say this on their website…
