Eventide Audio has just unveiled the Split Essentials series, starting with two innovative plug-ins: DeBoom and Sheen Machine. These products build upon Eventide’s acclaimed SplitEQ technology, offering task-specific audio enhancement tools.
DeBoom
Aimed at enhancing low-frequency clarity, DeBoom focuses on refining low-frequency sounds. It effectively reduces muddiness while maintaining the essential 'thump' of the bass. The plug-in achieves this by removing unwanted resonance but preserving the original punch of the sound.
Sheen Machine
Sheen Machine targets the higher end of the frequency spectrum. It adds tonal high-end brilliance without increasing transients. This process enhances dull signals, amplifying their 'airy' qualities without introducing sibilance or harshness typically associated with high-shelf boosts.
Split Essentials' Innovative Approach
Both plug-ins employ Eventide’s Structural Split Technology™. This approach analyses incoming audio, separating it into transient and tonal elements. Tailored EQ curves are then applied to the tonal layer, allowing for nuanced enhancement. The technology integrates the capabilities of the full-featured SplitEQ plug-in into a more focused, user-friendly format.
Availability and Pricing
The DeBoom and Sheen Machine plug-ins are available at an introductory price of $25 USD each, valid until the end of 2023. Crossgrades from SplitEQ/Physion Mk II/Anthology XII are offered at $19 each, with the standard MSRP set at $49 each post-promotion
