Free Plugin - Analog Obsession ATONE

This week’s free plugin is ATONE from Analog Obsession, a vintage style channel strip plugin with lots of old school charm, a simple but powerful EQ and a great compressor.

What Is ATONE?

A Channel Strip with '“A-Type” EQ, by which I’m guessing they mean Altec style. It is a powerful and very basic three band EQ which sounds great, just as long as you don’t want to change the frequency - this EQ is gain-only. It has high and low pass filters and a really nice compressor inspired by the Altec 436. There are lots of capabilities for tone shaping, with its own custom design and internal routing. There is no line or mic preamp as an input module but the input knob will drive EQ circuit's Gain Trim to get nasty op-amp saturation.

The Compressor section is based on 436c with extra modifications. The compressor has an amount knob to introduce compression and make-up gain, so it will be gain-compensated.

Features

INPUT: Controls the EQ circuit's Gain Trim to overload op-amp and get saturation

HPF & LPF: A-Type filters. HPF 20Hz to 600Hz. LPF 20kHz to 500Hz

EQUALIZER: A-Type 3 band inductor based EQ

COMPRESSOR: A 436c style compressor with modified attack and release times. Also the AMOUNT knob will adjust compression amount and make-up gain at the same time.

OUTPUT: A clean master volume control

SYSTEM: This bypasses the whole plug-in. Also, each module has its own bypass button. The EQ section's bypass won't bypass the INPUT knob. Only bands will be bypassed independently. So, you can still use it for saturation.
